Import and Customs Duties. If you intend to live in Holland, it's simple: all household goods may be imported duty-free. This includes your car if you've owned and used it for at least six months prior to moving to Holland. You may not sell it until you have resided here for one year. The duty exemption applies only once, so don't move part of your household, decide to stay longer, and then move the rest; you may end up paying duty on your own furniture.
